Are you planning to take ACLS classes in Spring, TX? If you are, get in touch with Texas CPR Academy! We provide a comprehensive and high-quality course on Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and can help you develop the skills and knowledge you need.

Who Is It For?

ACLS is recommended for nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists and other healthcare workers who work in emergency rooms, critical care departments, intensive care units, surgical areas, and other hospital locations where cardiovascular emergencies are common. The training is likewise a must for professionals who work in a pre-hospital setting, such as EMTs, paramedics, and firefighters. Medical students can also greatly benefit from this course.

Why Should You Take It?

You can already save a life if you know Basic Life Support (BLS). But why stop there when you can learn more advanced knowledge and master more technical skills?

Taking ACLS classes is a great way to improve your life-saving abilities. The training program expands on basic airway, breathing, and circulation techniques and teaches many advanced interventions. As a result, you’ll know how to properly respond to cardiovascular emergencies and greatly improve patient outcome.

Specifically, the classes will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to assess and manage the first few minutes of various cardiovascular events like ventricular fibrillation arrests, acute ischemic strokes, and symptomatic bradyarrhythmias. You’ll be taught how to do rhythm recognition, cardioversion, defibrillation, transcutaneous pacing, and other procedures through informative lectures and skill testing sessions along with learning and review stations.

Aside from cardiovascular emergency management, your ACLS instructors will also teach you how to effectively handle respiratory, metabolic, and toxicologic emergencies.

What Are the Requirements?

Since ACLS is an advanced course, you’ll need to have the basics down pat before you sign up for it. Take a CPR training course for healthcare providers to develop your BLS skills or brush up on your knowledge. Many providers also recommend taking an ECG & Pharmacology course beforehand since interpreting electrocardiograms and administering the correct drugs are an important part of ACLS.
