CPR Classes FAQ

According to the American Heart Association, hundreds of Americans have a heart attack caused by health or other issues every day. This is a frightful statistic. And many of those lives could be spared with the proper AHA CPR classes. People’s awareness of how to perform CPR is crucial for the life of all sufferers. Even children can learn the technique of artificial respiration. Texas CPR Academy has been training people on CPR training since 2013, and we have the confidence that we have helped a lot of people to gain the ability to perform it on their relatives and friends. If you are in Spring, TX and wish to learn more about us, you can see some commonly asked questions that many people ask us.

  • What classes do you offer? Apart from CPR training, you can also take advantage of ACLS training which is Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. They are led by a knowledgeable trainer. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training is available for you too. You can also take part in our CNA classes that will help you gain nursing skills.

  • How do we practice these methods? Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a procedure in which you help a cardiac arrest sufferer to regain their normal heartbeat. Our trainers will assist you by using a mannequin model known as CPR Annie. We will teach you where and how to apply rhythmic motions in a way you mimic a heartbeat yourself. The movements should be fast and hard, but not too hard.

  • Do I really need to pass a course? Can I not just watch some videos on YouTube? Practical AHA CPR classes performed by certified and licensed trainers, like ours, will help you understand a real life-or-death situation. Whether you have any relatives with cardiovascular problems or not, you will be prepared for sure. All those videos you are talking about cannot give you that.

  • I am a healthcare specialist myself? Do I need that? To perfect your skills, Texas CPR Academy recommends you to enroll in the CPR ACLS training.

  • Do you organize lessons for non-native English speakers? Yes, if you are in Spring, TX and wish to undertake one of our training courses, we can organize it for you in English or Spanish.

  • How do I know I have to execute CPR? The person will be unconscious. You have to check if there is a pulse. Please have in mind that the victim will need CPR if you cannot feel a pulse or heartbeat. This is an emergency situation, and you should call 911 for an ambulance to come as soon as possible, but in the meantime, you should start with the CPR until the emergency services arrive

  • What about if the person’s heart is beating but he is not breathing? This condition is called a respiratory arrest. If his brain doesn’t receive oxygen through cardiopulmonary resuscitation within the next few minutes, the person could die.

  • How do I know he is OK? When you perform CPR properly, the sufferer may open his eyes, start coughing and start to breathe normally. In other words, he may regain consciousness. For more information on our AHA CPR classes, you can call us at (832) 981-3996.
